Here is an image of the site of the Mildura Marina "development" taken in August 2005 before any construction had commenced. This was a time when the existing wetland was a home for the endangered growling grass frog (litoria raniformis) and also provided a refuge close to the city for vagrant River Rats.
This is the same scene six years later after the marina has been constructed along with some significant earth works. The has been some building of residences also some apartments and a convention centre construction has started after a bit of a hiccough caused by the global financial crisis. The million dollar prime plots have dropped significantly in price.
These two images are just a couple from the panorama sets that I have taken a few times a year since 2005. I have had to change my vantage point recently because the the trees in the foreground have grown so much. I will produce the panorama series in the near future.
